Guest hermanita
What is the official Church teaching on the Book of Revelations and the "Last Days." Last night at a Christmas party there was quite a discussion--mostly Protestant folks from work-and I realized that I honestly don't know how the Church interprets it. Help please. Theoketos
The Book of Revelation speaks specifically and in a veiled manner about events which will happen soon (relative to the end of St. John' life). That being said the book is also an allegory for the end of our world. I think the book is best looked at for its theological and Christological content and not as a how to guide for predicting the end of the world because no one knows the hour of the day.
