At my parish we have a first class relic of St. Ignatius of Antioch. A fragment of his wristbone is located in the altar in the sanctuary.
When I went to Notre Dame at the Basilica of the Sacred Heart, they have a few sections of the Basilica with like fifty bagillion relics of saints. I don't know how many of each one of them were in each class, but it was quite humbling, comforting, and in a weird way freaky to be in the presence of so many saints!!!

Two of the parishes that I visit have first class relics for veneration. The Dominican church has St. Dominic, St. Peter the Great, Pope Pius X, St. John Vianney, St. Mother Cabrini, & a few others that I cannot recall off of the top of my head. The other local parish has St. Elizabeth Ann Seton, St. Charles Borromeo, St. Clare, & I think St. Frances de Sales, but don't quote me on that. I always love to visit them.

My parish has a few relics (I believe all of the are first class) on display in our perpetual Adoration chapel. The super razzle dazzle one for me though is in the crucifix about the altar there is a relic of the True Cross. The certificate to its authenticity is framed in the back of the Church. It turns out that it was given to an ancestor of a founding family of our parish for bringing the Loreto House to Europe during the Crusades. During the Good Friday services the relic is placed in a plain large cross for people to venerate. I think it is so razzle dazzle that we are actually venerating part of the True Cross!

There's a church in Pittsburgh that has the second most relics to the Vatican. My friend is taking me next semester. There's a piece of Mary's veil- with a letter from the Pope at the time saying it's legit. :woot:

does this mean a relic of your mom or a relic given to you by your mom?

Third class -- cloth touched to the relics of St. Therese sent to me by Mother Mary Elizabeth of the Carmelites in Denmark, WI. :)

This is simply my take on this matter & I quote:

"While it is certainly possible that not all relics are authentic and that "fakes" may be circulating, it is best to treat ALL relics with reverance, lest we mistreat an authentic relic we mistook for being fradulent. It is important to remember that relics are meant to inspire us with devotion to God through a particular saint's example; therefore, it is understable that a fake relic can produce the same desired effect in the hearts of the faithful."

Here is the article I quoted from http://saintrelics.o...city/4527247991

Actually, this isn't well known, but the Church does not allow blessed items and relics to be sold. Technically, it's sacrilegious.

I don't know - maybe this doesn't apply to third-class relics?
