Crusader_4
I love JP II. Although, eventually he will pass on though and the church will have to pick another great shepard where do you think he will hail from?
morostheos
I voted for Africa...but wouldn't it be cool if he came from Asia, where the Church is persecuted?? We'd be like, ha! try and not let us practice our religion!

Thy Geekdom Come
The Church is persecuted in Africa, too. I voted Africa. I just have a feeling.
Crusader_4
I think the next Pope should actively campgaing against Child labour and world hunger not that JP II hasnt but in the sense of how JP II did it against communism.

Thomas Michael
im guessing south america becuase thats where its growing fast.
It's not just growing fast... it's now the region with the most Catholics in the world! Well, I'm talking about Latin America, anyway... but yeah, I'm sure we'll have a Latin-American pope in the near future. Ellenita
OK, it's very easy to work out....scan all the papers and cross off the list anyone who is described as being 'hotly tipped' as the next pope.....
PedroX
I voted Italy. After the long and wonderful Pontificate of JPII, we will probably have a transistion Pope. However, my personal favorite is His Emmince, Cardinal Arinze! peace...
JP2Iloveyou
with all due respect to this thread, I think it is a moot point. The Holy Spirit will choose whoever He wants and the Cardinals will respect His decision. Whether the man they elect will be from Africa, Asia, the Americas, Europe, or somewhere else is irrelevant, IMO because he will be the vicar of Christ. If a man whose skin tone happens to be a darker shade than white is elected, it won't be to make him "the first black pope" or "the first Asian pope." It will be becaus that is the man the Holy Spirit will have chosen.
toledo_jesus
I agree, the Spirit will choose whoever God wants...but I bet he'll be Italian
ilovechrist
US... somewhere in the US... but whatever He decides is fine with me...
M.SIGGA
I agree with JP2Iloveyou, but I think it would be neat if Cardinal Jean Marie Cardinal Lustiger, the Archbishop of Paris became the next Pope because he is a Jew who lost his parents in the Holocaust and converted after WWII.
