For Christmas I think I would like to reach 1000 props because something about becoming 'Incorruptible' just tickles my fancy! :P

GeorgiiMichael

I would love to be able to build a computer for myself. But that's well over $1000, so that's not going to happen anytime soon.

if this was on my driveway on Christmas day, with a huge bow and a tag that said "to: dominicansoul," I would never ask for anything again in my whole life...

Your computer would melt if you brought it to FL right now anyway. It's been in the 80's all week.

Be careful with this wish. Although often touted as possible and desirable, trying to figure out our guardian angel's names doesn't jive with the nature of angels in Scripture. If you go through all of the times in scripture when angels make themselves known (which is very infrequently), you will find that each time they are loathe to reveal information about themselves beyond what is absolutely necessary, and that they often disguise themselves as people so that they won't be recognized.

I STRONGLY would encourage you to develop a devotion to your guardian angel, but be sure that in the process you study angels and be careful to understand that having a relationship with your angel does not require you to know his name. Part of the danger in this is that demons are angels, and if you ask an angel to reveal its name and you do get an answer, you have no way of knowing whether or not it was your guardian angel, or perhaps an evil angel who is revealing that to you.

I recommend this site for more information http://www.opusangel...fraternity.html. When I was in the monastery a priest from this Benedictine community came and gave us a series of lectures on the angels. He strongly, strongly encouraged daily devotion to one's guardian angel, but explained the importance of understanding angels' roles in scripture to understand how we should interact with them. :)
edit: this community has been entrusted by the Church with promoting and clarifying devotion to the angels (in the same way that Franciscans are entrusted with devotions to the creche and stations of the cross, and Dominicans are entrusted with devotion to the rosary).
