You play flute??? I didn't know that!

I've been having a hard time coming up with what I want for Christmas. Everything I want is baby related. :)

I would want a new Hakko FM-206 tri-tool soldering/desoldering station. In other words, every electronic geek's dream tool:

430 watts, dual suction pumps, digital control down to the 10th of a degree, flow curve settings, the works. It's a dreamboat soldering station. :)

I'd settle for the old Hakko 888 though, it's a good one too.

Yes, I remember! You'll be happy to know that I was considering Gemeinhardt flutes. Even though, at one point, I said I didn't like them, I recently learned that the older models are better than the newer models. The newer ones are made in China and have softer metal, which is probably why mine was out of tune when it was brand new. I went to a musical instrument store and looked at a "Gemmie" but they never called me back to say how much they wanted for it. I was pleasantly surprised when I did my daily search on eBay and found my "new" flute for $99 and it had NO bids! I kept thinking to myself, "How did I not see that before?!?" It was 30 min before the auction ended, too. :)

You want to buy mine? My fume extractor broke, so I am spending more time with family now.

I have a 1985 Gemeinhardt. When I took it in for cleaning and what not, the clerk at the music store couldn't stop holding it and staring at it. He was in awe of it. For the first time ever, I was afraid for my flute. That guy was creepy...

My mother got a dishwasher.
I really want to go to Chicago to visit the sisters, but I AM going to see my friends up in the north(east), and my kindred spirit (we have been apart for too long!), so that's enough for me.

I hadn't even thought about a dishwasher. I want a dishwasher. And a Kitchen Aid mixer.

Well, when we moved to the new house, the dishwasher there was the original (so it was around 21 years old). It doesn't clean dishes, which is what a dishwasher is supposed to do, so that was an issue. My dad one day just told my mom "Go and get a dishwasher and it'll be your Christmas present." It was great for my dad because he never knows what to get mom!

I have fixed those before. It's usually not too bad. Best bet is to find a local geek who wants a hot meal on a Saturday night (PIZZA!) and give him the laptop, a spare keyboard for your model (order on ebay, they are cheap) and some freshly cooked foodz and see if he'll do it. :)

If I could have one thing for Christmas I would want the complete permanent healing of my sleep apnea. Not even St. Jude's novena helped me out here. :-( I get the feeling my fave thing under the tree this year'll be paintball related and/or New Super Mario Bros. Wii. I've been renting that game a lot lol and my mom is hooked so ya. It's just a matter of waiting til Christmas morning.
