Jaime
Arturo Moreno paid $180 million for the Angels franchise in 2005. Today he paid $250 million for one player
Papist
Aren't they also paying Vernon Wells like $21mil per year through 2014?
Catholictothecore
Wow..... The Angels just either made the most brilliant decision ever, or they will shortly go the way of the Dodgers. And well I do feel that players like C.J. Wilson are are treated as a bigger power swing than they really are when they change during the offseason, there can be no doubt that the Angels just bought themselves a $300 million dollar target on their backs. They better live up to it, because I know quite a few teams are going to just love it if they can go into Angel Stadium and take 2 of 3.

XIX
Angels?? I don't see this making them much better in the short term. Unless they plan on spending Red Sox/Phillies money, they're going to end up losing a few of their other players. Don't they still have to sign a few of their own guys? Papist
Angels are insane for giving 10 years, $250M to a 32 year old. And the Cardinals are right for not making a counter offer.
