CatherineM
Yes. I love Hot Stove discussions. I was surprised Ortiz accepted arbitration. I'm also surprised more teams aren't interested in C.J. Wilson.
Roamin Catholic
[quote name='CatherineM' timestamp='1323316262' post='2347151'] Yes. I love Hot Stove discussions. Knocks out a lot of teams who don't want to risk the dough on a pitcher of that age.
XIX
I just went onto fangraphs.com to get caught up. Marlins are spending some serious money. I guess between the second wild card and their new stadium, they decided it's time to start luring more fans to their games. I could easily see them getting into that new wild card play-in game...too bad they play in the same division as the Phillies though.
Catholictothecore
Mark Buerhle is going to be great no matter where he is pitching, and as a Twins fan, I am very excited to know we won't have to face him so often. Though there had been a rumor the Twins were interested. I'd have loved that. Big Papi belongs to Boston. Go Big Papi.

Catholictothecore
I really do think he will end up staying in St. Louis. He is the heart and soul of that town. I live in the cross territory of Cards/Cubs/Twins/Royals territories, but the Cards are by far the top of that list. We are a hundred and fifty miles from St. Louis. LGLG and I were in an Applebee's when the Cards won the series, and the place went nuts. His name was almost as loud as the name of the team, lol! I think he wants to ensure the end of his career, like all getting older players. I think he wants to make as much money for as long as possible and win some championships while doing it. And who doesn't want to be THE face of a ball club? I think, at the end of the day, he's only going to find that combination in St. Louis.
Papist
It would kill us Cards fans to see Pujols in any other uniform. However, Cards fans are more Cardinal fans that any fan of a player. We will get over it. I think it is crazy for any team to offer Pujols 10 year contract. He turns 32 in a month. Cardinals' last offer is 10 year, 220 million. So, the dude is guaranteed to be filthy rich and his kids and grandkids too. If he does not sign with the Cardinals, then he is full of bull-croutons b/c he has always said he wants to stay in St. Louis and it ain't about the money. In St. Louis, Stan is still the Man.
