Between the two of us we can eat... peanutbutter. Which is surprising. Together we have gluten, dairy, egg, soy sensitivities/intolerances/allgergies.

Note to self: not a fan of coconut oil. :x

My roommate also tries to avoid soy.

At least you don't have to worry about her not grasping the concept of cross contamination. My niece is allergic to peanuts (and possibly other nuts, waiting to test until she's older). My mom told my Grandma not to send Christmas cookies this year, even nut-free, because of possible cross contamination from all the other cookies they bake at the same time. My grandma tried to convince my mom it was probably chicken pox, not an allergic reaction to nuts. :wall:

My mom is always telling me to try different things to "get my immune system in shape" so that I can "get over" my allergies.

I'm just like... ok,,, but it's not gonna go away...

The really messed up part is, she worked in the food service for yeaaaaaars. I sincerely thought she'd have a much better grasp of food allergies and the danger of cross-contamination. Nope, she just tries to deny the allergy.
On the bright side, my mom did convince her not to send any, and now my SIL starts anything regarding the allergy with, "Her pediatrician says" so that people can't argue it. Well, they can, but then they're arguing with a doctor. And my grandparents have the utmost respect for doctors. Even crappy ones.

Your guest will need some to wash down all the delicious food. May I suggest?

One of my sister's friends actually did get significantly better with food tolerance when she started doing a bunch of alternative therapy type things, but that was not so much an immune system thing as a stomach not working right thing. And that was tried after the doctors told her, "Well, there is not much else we can do, and if you don't get better, we'll just have to put you on a feeding tube." And that was when she was 18. And she went, "Um, NO!"

[/quote]No.

Because I can't drink ale, so I won't buy it.

However, I was thinking of rum and apple cider.

well, the wheat thing for me does seem to be an intestinal thing, not allergy. I won't know for sure though, EVER cuz the doc screwed up ALL of my tests, and I would have to wheat for three weeks before I took it again, which is just NOT worth it.
