xTrishaxLynnx
I can eat it that way, if it's reaaaaaaaaaally dry... but then the stuff still has HAIR on it. Yuck.

Never had a problem with hair on those. I like a good batch of okra and tomatoes too.
CrossCuT
He is intolerant (or allergic. We didn't test since its treated the same- avoiding dairy) to a protein in cow's milk. It is passed through breastmilk, so both of us have to avoid anything with cow's milk as long as I am nursing him. We use a lot of coconut and almond milks. I want to try almond milk...that just sounds amazing

WillT
What is "okra"? http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Okra It's a vegetable that's related to cotton, of all things. You eat the seed pod which also contains a fluid used as a thickening agent in gumbo and some other stews.
CatholicsAreKewl
OO OOo OOO! Time for a jail-house CLASSIC: 1. get a bag of cookies 2. SMASH SMASH SMASH THEM (until they look powdery). 3. Place them in a bowl 4. Pour a soda of your choosing on them until the liquid barely covers all the powdery crumminess. 5. Put in the microwave for about half a minute (or until you see the mixture rise) VIOLA JAIL CAKE Edited May 10, 2013 by CatholicsAreKewl
CrossCuT
Another really fun thing to make with kids are cake balls! Bake a regular box cake from the store dump it out of the pan and rip it up with your hands (the kids will enjoy this) Mix up the torn cake with frosting to make it sticky Roll it in balls like cookie dough Dip the balls in a hardening candy shell frosting Put on wax paper in fridge to cool BAM INSTANT YUMMY You can mix and match cake flavors and frosting. I made strawberry cake balls with chocolate frosting and pecans sprinkled on top.

MissScripture
Today, I made vegan "mac and cheese." http://www.food.com/recipe/vegan-macaroni-and-cheese-8924 I used almond milk instead of soy, and subbed a 1/2 tsp of onion powder for the garlic. It wasn't too bad. The munchkin didn't like it, and preferred the plain pasta, but it curbed my intense cheese craving for the moment. I mean, it definitely didn't taste like a box of Kraft Mac and Cheese, or something, but it was creamy and had a cheesy flavor...or maybe that was just my imagination because I am so starved for cheese. :hehe2:
