homeschoolmom
okay... habit.... we in MN are usually off the hook this early re: political ads. MN is almost 100% of the time going for the Dem. (even in 1984 for every other state in the US went for Reagan, we went for... <gulp> Mondale... but don't look at me, I didn't vote yet!!) I guess this year, Bush thinks he has a chance, cuz we are already getting the ads.
Crusader_4
I am suprised that Minnesota is not a republican hotbed with all of the Ukranian Catholics you guys have.

Paladin D
Mainly abortion and gay marriage. So I pick Other.
Pio Nono
JMJ 5/2 - Fourth Sunday of Easter From what I can tell of Minnesota, they are national Democrats and local Republicans; that is, for the national election (President), they're sworn Democrats and for local elections (that is, Congress and state government), they're hardcore Republicans. Kinda weird...
BeenaBobba
Yeah, I picked "other," too. I picked it because I based my voting on the five Catholic "non-negiotiable" issues, which you can read here. Lounge Daddy
Thanx for the link, BeenaBobba - I like the way this spells it all out. Bush seems to fit all this, do you think? Bush also seems to be a bit more Catholic on these issues than Kerry - funny, eh? (And at least Bush does not take the Blessed Sacrament for granted.) BeenaBobba
Thanx for the link, BeenaBobba - I like the way this spells it all out. Bush seems to fit all this, do you think?
Bush could definitely be more pro-life. I think he supports abortion in the cases of rape, incest, and the "life of the mother," which is against what the Catholic Church teaches. The Catholic Church teaches that all human beings are entitled to life, and that includes preborn children conceived from a raping and incest. Likewise, it's wrong to intentially kill a preborn baby to save the mother's life. If a politician or anyone supports abortion in these cases, it makes me question why they oppose abortion at all. I oppose abortion because it is the taking of a human life -- and that cannot be sanctioned. If they are against abortion, is it because they see the preborn child as being fully human? If so, I wonder why they make exceptions to justify killing them. I think Bush is against gay "marriage." I'm not sure where he stands on euthanasia and cloning, but I'd probably think he'd be agianst the latter. I think he angered a lot of pro-lifers over embryonic stem cell research. Didn't he okay using existing embryos for stem cell research? I'm not too sure about this, but I think I recall reading or hearing about that.
Bush also seems to be a bit more Catholic on these issues than Kerry - funny, eh? (And at least Bush does not take the Blessed Sacrament for granted.)
Yes, Bush is definitely a better choice than Kerry. I don't see how any Catholic (or non-Catholic Christian) could ever vote for Kerry. I know I certainly couldn't do so with a clear conscience. If I vote at all, it will be for Bush. CreepyCrawler
i'm so sad that my sister is voting for kerry. she's catholic, of course, but she is so against bush and thinks that he's ruining the country and wants him out of office. i told her to vote for anyone else but she was like, yeah, but they'll never win. and she'd rather have a baby-killer than bush, who i'll admit isn't that great of a pres, but at least he's not a baby-killer or a huge catholic hypocrite. so i'm just gonna pray that she doesn't make it to the polls or something cuz there's just no changing her mind. i'm voting for bush b/c of abortion.
