when I saw this thread, I was instantly going to say cheesecake... and that would have to be right up there... but Jason's hot fudge sundae sounded good too... and as I just had a hot fudge malt (my favorite)... I'm going to have to make those a toss up...
The maple syrup/snow thingy does instantly sound Canadian...

Yeah, well you know St. Bonfiace? (honeymoon...) Anyways thats where the Festivale is. I like talking French and then the food and yeah its pretty amazing. Somehow the syrup turns into like a lollypop but not quite and it gets all over you.

You know... this sounds really good. Is there more to it than just dumping some syrup on a bowl of snow? I'm guessing it's real maple syrup... not Mrs. Butterworth's... My kids would probably love this...

Well, its 100% PURE CANADIAN maple syrup (the only real kind haha)... you heat it to a certain temperature, then pour it onto snow in a strip, press a popsicle stick into it, roll it up, then its a lollypop. The teachers hated giving it to us on field trips becuase its pretty much pure sugar, and it gets all over you. There are instructions online but I tried to get my mom to make it for me and it wouldnt work. I look forward to it every year :sadder: Its still 8 months away.

I have got to make this for my kids next year... there's a place to go syruping around here (You think Canada has a lock on maple trees? ;) )

How am I going to remember this thread until next winter?

btw, Minnesota is supposed to get some snow tonight... but not this far south...
