4588686
Was awful Boring plot, one-dimensional characters, predictable twists, and just utterly engaging. Paul Bettaney and Ian McKellen gave pretty good showings but even that really didn't improve the poo fest that was this movie. The only marginally interesting thing associated with this movie was the character Silas.

LaPetiteSoeur
And for a guy who is married to an art historian, Dan Brown's descriptions of some of the most famous works of art are pitiful. (note: I read parts for my art history class. We laughed. Had we described our paintings the way he did on tests, we would have failed.)

Totus Tuus
I never saw it, but a few days ago I stumbled across it on TV and got curious so I watched it. For about five minutes. It was awful! In the five minutes I watched it, there were five references to the Church not allowing scientific progress. I don't even think it was the Catholic side of me that was offended, it was the academic side of me that knows history and was offended by how grossly inaccurate every single statement was. The plot was horrible, the acting was horrible, the basis was completely off... everything about it was repulsive. It kind of reminded me of National Treasure, except at least National Treasure was entertaining and had somewhat good acting.

Totus Tuus
I fell asleep within about 20 minutes of it starting.
I don't think I would have made it that far, sober or not. I made it 20 minutes into Phantom of the Opera before falling asleep, though, so I'm pretty proud of that. sixpence
"I do something very intentional and specific in these books. And that is to blend fact and fiction in a very modern and efficient style, to tell a story. There are some people who understand what I do, and they sort of get on the train and go for a ride and have a great time, and there are other people who should probably just read somebody else." -Dan Brown yes.. that movie was not so amesome... also, I don't care what you say, I still like this quote... “Science and religion are not at odds. Science is simply too young to understand.” -Angels and Demons
