Pepsi And Abortions

Surprisingly, Franciscan serves Pepsi products in its cafeteria. Might have to do something about that (although I do prefer Pepsi to Coke).

If I boycotted every company that did something I disagreed with Id go bonkers and never be able to buy anything!! All I am able to do is pray for an end to abortion which I do daily with my Rosary.

i do tend to endure a great deal of scrupulosity with this issue... it seems everything is tied to abortion these days... :(

Since my country has socialized medicine my tax dollars go to pay for abortions in public hospitals. Should I stop working? Should I stop paying taxes? No, how can I? I fight in the way I described above, praying for conversion of heart to solve the problem at its source.

I've been boycotting Pepsi for years. Not intentionally, mind you, I just don't buy their products.

Or Coke's, either, for that matter.

And all the fetal research in the world won't get me to start using their producuts, so they can just stop now.

Boycott PepsiCo. That’s the message scores of pro-life groups are sending after the revelation that the soft drink giant has partnered with Senomyx, a biotech company that uses aborted fetal cells in the research and development of artificial flavor enhancers.
Although the aborted fetal cells are not in Pepsi products, it’s nevertheless an image that makes the stomach turn.
"There are many options PepsiCo could be using instead of aborted fetal cells,” argues Debi Vinnedge, president of Children of God for Life, the group spearheading the boycott.
PepsiCo isn’t the first major brand name to work with Senomyx. It’s well-documented that Campbell's Soup Company has also worked with the organization. However, Campbell's severed all relations with Senomyx after the revelation of the aborted fetal cell testing.
Pepsi is still working with the firm, insisting that "our collaboration with Senomyx is strictly limited to creating lower-calorie, great-tasting beverages for consumers."
“While aborted fetal cells aren't actually in the product itself, the close relationship is enough to repulse most consumers,” says Bradley Mattes, executive director of Life Issues Institute. “To our knowledge, this is the first time a food product has been publicly associated with abortion."
Pro-life organizations are asking the public to boycott all Pepsi drink products and encourage consumers to contact Pepsi management requesting that they sever all ties with Senomyx.

I thought you should all know about this. I have know for a while.

We actually started talking about this on the Lame Board (sometimes things do get serious on there): http://www.phatmass....ost__p__2334373

And then I asked this on the Q&A: http://www.phatmass....aborted-babies/

I have known for a while too. Nestle and Kraft are also part of this.

They collaborate with Senomyx, too?
