Love "Here I am Lord" the only problem is it always makes me cry so I can't get though singing it.
For me 'Amazing Grace' and 'Be Still My Soul' makes me sob. I also cried the last time I heard 'Ag Chriost on Siol' but that's because I was away from home on St. Patrick's day and I'd just walked into the church and saw a bit stained glass window of St. Patrick

It's probably too far away for me to really think about it but I would like the hymn, 'As I am, without a plea' by Charlotte Elliott probably as the Offeratory but really anywhere.

There are so many I love that it would take a little thinking, especially as by the time it ever actually gets to that point, I might have other hymns that mean a lot of me for different reasons. But that is one of my favourites.

Just as I am, without one plea, but that thy blood was shed for me, and that thou bidst me come to thee, O Lamb of God, I come, I come.

I must say I do not remember a single hymn from my Profession... I know it was beautiful... but I have no idea what they were since it was such an overwhelming day! I particularly liked the Responsorial Psalm... but again... I don't remember it!
It's funny, one of my big things for my Nuptial Mass was the music... I walked down the aisle to The King of Love My Shepherd Is (St. Columba), I had the psalm tone Gloria, chanted Agnus Dei, I Received the Living God as the communion hymn, traditional Mendelssohn for the recessional... it was very important to me...

and I don't remember any of it as it was happening! None! Zippo! I was totally in lala land of adrenaline... too psyched up too listen!

ETA: The Gloria setting was from a Mass by John Lee :)

Or Amazing Grace.

I had Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring as the processional at my wedding. Don't remember ever hearing it!

Glad to hear I'm not the only one who doesn't remember ANY of the music from my big day! I spent hours and hours picking the PERFECT music...don't remember hearing ANY of it.

The Sisters had some gorgeous hymns they use. "Jesu Amor Mi," "Veni Sponsa Christi," "Jesu Ego Amo Te" ... Some of which are one-of-a-kind hymns found in very old hymn books that were being thrown out by various churches. The Mass settings, also, are glorious. First professions and final professions feature different hymns and Mass settings, but they are equally gorgeous.

For my wedding I had Jesu Joy of Man's Desiring, Canon in D, Love Divine All Loves Excelling, and I can't remember what else. I prefer traditional hymns and wanted the Latin Mass settings but my cantor didn't know them so I had to compromise. Music is a huge part of my life: I love to sing and have been both a cantor and a choir member (can't now as my motherly duties to my baby come first) and I have very strong opinions about sacred music that come from years of training while I was in the convent. But even though the music was extremely important to me and I wanted it to be as perfect as possible, the most important parts were the Sacraments: both my marriage, and also receiving Jesus for the first time as a married woman, following her God-given vocation. So those are the parts I remember most! ;)

Those are beautiful! Unfortunately, they're not the same ones the Sisters used where I was. Same Latin words, but different music. The "Veni Jesu Amor Mi" we sang I did hear one other place (maybe Nashville? Some other community, can't remember which!) but I'm sure the others would be impossible to find anywhere else. The composers were very obscure Italian ones.

Oh wow...I wish I could hear those melodies. I did go on retreat once there, but I'm sure none of this music was used for the retreat. Still...beautiful, beautiful...bellisimo!
