Hymns You Would Want For Your Wedding/profession Of Vows

Just for fun (and so we can find out what everybody's favourite church music is like :P).

When I take my vows, God willing, I want these hymns:

Entry Hymn
Be Thou My Vision

(The tempo is a little fast, but I can't find a better version.)

Offertory Hymn
O Purest of Creatures

Communion Hymns
Adoro te Devote
Soul of My Saviour

Recessional Hymn
Lord, for tomorrow and its needs

And for the Mass setting, Missa Orbis Factor (assuming it's Ordinary Time).

I had O Merciful Redeemer for my processional (it sounded a lot better than this version, and it was an organ/violin duet with no singing) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IU0kmagGZzU I fell in love with it at OLAM, but there's no recorded version from there on YouTube that I can show you guys.

I had this version of Holy, Holy, Holy for a communion hymn http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R-liS9e2IY8 which may seem kind of strange but it was beautiful. I have some very talented friends who played it for me. I love Sufjan Stevens.

My sister sang Ave Maria a capella during our presentation of flowers to Mary before the final blessing.

Merciful Redeemer on the violin was the recessional. The power went out at the end of Mass, so the organ didn't work, but the violin was beautiful by itself.

I have a list of hymns I want for my Profession and I also have a list of hymns for a regular wedding just in case too.

For my Profession I would want:
Processional-We Are Called
Mass Setting-Mass of Light
Offertory-Here I am Lord
Communion-Taste and See and then possibly The Potter's Hand if I can get away with it.
Recessional-Lead Me Lord

If I were to get married I would want
Bridesmaids-Canon in D
Bride's Entrance-Tradition Wedding March
Mass Setting-Mass of Light
Response-May God Bless You
Celtic Alleluia
Candle-All I Ask of You(not from Phantom)
Offertory-You Are Mine
Communion-How Beautiful
Bouquet to Blessed Mother-Holy is His Name
Recessional Trumpet Tune/Ode to Joy and/or Horn Pipe

I've threatened to have 'Ding Dong the Witch is Dead' at my (living) mother's funeral

Seriously

Processional: Here I am Lord

Offetory hymn: As I kneel before you
Ave Maria

Communion : Ag Criost on Siol (Christ is the Harvest, fav hymn)
Cead Mile Failte A Iosa (A hundred thousand welcomes, Jesus the hymn we sang at my First Holy Communion)

Recessional: O Happy Days (I'm not the biggest fan of gospel music but I love this one and so does my Mum)
Hail Holy Queen

I'd also like Be Still My Soul in there somewhere, even though its usually reserved for funerals

Oh, and 'Amazing Grace'. Probably too many but I'm greedy

Love "Here I am Lord" the only problem is it always makes me cry so I can't get though singing it.
If you are anything like me you will probably be crying already so it wouldn't make that much of a difference.

Probably, I have to swallow tears at Mass already. I would probably be flooding the aisles at my profession. Please, God I hope one day to find out. :)

Okay, ready! :)

Entrance- Here I am Lord, I Come to do Your Will
Offertory- Adoro Te Devote
Communion- Laudate Omnes Gentes
Recessional- The Summons

So, the songs I listed for the entrance and recessional aren't always my style of Church music, but I come close to crying every time I hear them and I feel they reflect vocation very well and they are not irreverent, so... :)

Do you know the story behind this one? It made me love it even more!

Here it is, if the pham doesn't know
"It Is Well with My Soul" is a very influential hymn penned by hymnist Horatio Spafford and composed by Philip Bliss.
This hymn was written after several traumatic events in Spafford’s life. The first was the death of his only son in 1871 at the age of four, shortly followed by the great Chicago Fire which ruined him financially (he had been a successful lawyer). Then in 1873, he had planned to travel to Europe with his family on the SS Ville du Havre, but sent the family ahead while he was delayed on business concerning zoning problems following the Great Chicago Fire. While crossing the Atlantic, the ship sank rapidly after a collision with a sailing ship, the Loch Earn, and all four of Spafford's daughters died. His wife Anna survived and sent him the now famous telegram, "Saved alone . . .". Shortly afterwards, as Spafford traveled to meet his grieving wife, he was inspired to write these words as his ship passed near where his daughters had died.
Bliss called his tune Ville du Havre, from the name of the stricken vessel.[sup][1][/sup]
The Spaffords later had three more children, one of whom (a son) died in infancy. In 1881 the Spaffords, including baby Bertha and newborn Grace, set sail for Israel. The Spaffords moved to Jerusalem and helped found a group called the American Colony; its mission was to serve the poor. The colony later became the subject of the Nobel prize winning Jerusalem, by Swedish novelist Selma Lagerlöf.Although the original manuscript reads "know" at the end of the third line, almost all recordings and written reproductions read "say".
Oh, I love that one, too! And "Summon's."

I must say I do not remember a single hymn from my Profession... I know it was beautiful... but I have no idea what they were since it was such an overwhelming day! I particularly liked the Responsorial Psalm... but again... I don't remember it!
