No offense, but I just don't see how studies like that can be truly unbiased considering how many people want to justify their porn/masturbation these days. I didn't check out the link, but studies "suggesting" a hypothesis are still just that... hypotheses. No proof.

Well actually...

When I was in college, I had prostate infections, which the doctor said could lead to more "serious trouble" down the road. He said that the reason that I was prone to infections was that the prostate was working a lot the build up was causing my infection.

BTW Prostate infections was one of the worst pains I've ever felt.

It seems like that would not happen for someone whose body was taking care of its biological needs in sleep... (no insensitivity intended, I'm just trying to figure this out)

These two statement cause me some concern and also brings up some questions.

So you didn't to this BEFORE you read phatmass? So it wasn't a physical need before then ? It was stirred on by reading about it - a mental stimulation? If simple reading did this to you, it's a VERY good argument against any kind of reading that leads to this, including Sports Illustrated I would think.

And what about the last statement? Are you saying we shouldn't be writing about this here to protect the young? Because there may be others like you who haven't committed this sin before but after reading this thread will be tempted to do so? If that is really what happened to you, then I don't feel comfortable continuing to post in a thread that might be an occasion of sin for another. I know that anything could be an occasion of sin fo another, but from what you are saying, reading about this topic actually DID lead you to commit the sin? Am I reading this correctly?

Well like a lot of physiological things, that works in theory but it doesn't work for everybody. All I'm saying is that the whole prostate cancer thing is not necessarily from the radical left pro masturbation league.

Friends did and talked about it and I wasn't that pure by any means. I only had sex I think once or twice but I did do stuff with girls just not to the extent of going all the way. I do fully ackowledge not masturbating helped me not to have sex when I was young. I know for a fact if I would of masturbated a lot at a younger age it would of led to sex and I could possibly have kids outside of marriage. So I'm thankfull to God that didn't happen. I don't blame it on phatmass that I started I just think I was a " late. Bloomer " when it came to this I don't know. I know once I started though it was impossible to stop. Like literally impossible. So I don't know. I understand if this thread needs to be closed. Thanks for the prayers guys. Godbless.

And it was a physical need before then. Big time. I just never went down that route. I was really naive to doing it for some reason. And again I wasn't some pure holy kid by any means I just never did. But as a guy the need is always there. The addiction to it is like a really hard drug. Its not like you can just stop if ya want too. Anyhow I don't know why I'm going on and on about this most people know this. If kids are reading this try your best to stop and if you haven't started don't start. Go to confesssion and let God help you with this sin. It is possible not to do it. Again I went 21 or 22 years.

And thanks for the props on the post where I said why I started this thread. I made a thread last year about not having sex for 3 years. I made it in january it was actually a classic funny thread. lol and I will bump it in jauary when its 4 years since I haven't had sex. Anyhow that thread actually helped me not have sex when I was tempted this year. I wanted to be able to bump that thread and if I had sex I wouldn't be able too. But this thread is kinda different and I pry shouldn't of started it. Although at least some truth came out of it and mabey someone will read this and realise it is a mortal sin and it needs to be confessed.

Yes. It is great to have concrete things to give you incentives, but keep God's will included. I admire your honesty. Always be honest with yourself. You say you don't look at porn and such, but reflect on what images are you picturing in your head during.
