After work, I decompress (I spend too much time at work). There's prayer and reflection- usually while I sort and clear my desk, drive home, and finally head towards the bedroom. In between, there's a bit of Netflix. Then there's e-mail check, news and updates from friends and the world, and lots of music. There use to be some exercise and a bit of reading, but when it gets closer to the new year- stress at work gets higher. I keep grounded and humble by offering time as a Confirmation catechist. That's the week.

Three days weekly I take in ironing to pad the budget. One day week in the parish office and one day weekly in the St. Vincent de Paul Office - both volunteer positions. Since working in the parish and SVP offices are early starts, I have a short form of Morning Prayer and omit Prayer During the Day unless I am on a bus or waiting for one, then I use the pocket Office of Our Lady. I always carry my Rosary. If I am at home (ironing days for sure), I have discovered that keeping my mobile in my pocket and setting the alarm for the Office times works for me for Prayer during The Day, Evening Prayer, Private Prayer and Night Prayer. Morning Prayer doesn't need an alarm. I use the shorter Prayer from The Divine Office, with the small pocket Office of Our Lady if I am out and about. I try to read the Gospel of the day at some point and reflect.
Between the above there is housework and garden - and my crafts which I dont get to as often as I would like.
Thursdays I can attend Mass every Thursday and if possible I go on Tuesdays as well (the only two weekly Masses in our parish).
Since, I have discovered, our Cathedral is on the bus trip home from the SVP Office, I am hoping to be able to get to Eucharistic Adoration or at least some quiet time before The Blessed Sacrament - also Confession. We have Confessions in the parish on Saturday mornings, but it is an ironing day for me. Sundays and Tuesdays, with alternate Mondays are days off.

Having shifted into this suburb in September 2009, with much gratitude to The Lord after a whole heap of hashing and rehashing and trips backwards and forwards to 'the drawing board', things are falling into place slowly but surely. My previous address for 30 years was a busy life with doorbell and phone driving me near to complete insanity. It is a different way of life where I am now, much quieter, although I do keep in touch with some from my previous address.

I was a student. However, one day at college in about July, I think it was, I just stopped dead in my tracks literally and said to myself "Why am I doing this?" as it was a very very mentally intesive life with study and assignments. If I was young enough to have something as an end purpose other than possibly a degree, it may have been different. But getting a degree for the sake of it, really wasn't doing things for me, while it was for others. But they didn't have the study and assignments!!!

I only ever go out evenings if it is with the family and always enjoy myself heaps and heaps! This is regular, but not often.
