I sure hope this is a joke... how about using an emoticon or two to let us know? Something along the lines of  or :P -- anything to give us a clue......

Yes yes that was a joke!! :bash: I thought it was a fitting comment considering the video. The sixties and the seventies were definitely different! :nun1: :nun2:

LaPetiteSoeur

We sang this once in high school against our wills.

The bishop was speechless. We hated it. We never, ever sang it again after that.

I sing it just about every week. Not that I choose to, but that's what they play - with a lot more drive, I must say.

What's the problem? Our Father likes only one kind of music? Hell, I like more than one kind of music, and I'm not even omniscient-infinite!

Here's another one you probably won't like. It's a Jamaican (I think) folk version. To my way of thinking, it's still the Lord's Prayer, and singing is still praying twice. I hum it when I'm doing certain kinds of mindless work.

But since I don't have a very good voice, I guess I shouldn't sing at all since My Father won't like it. Better I should sit back and let other people pray-sing for me.

You youngins may scoff, but it was an extremely big hit when it came out and because it was catchy lots of people sang it along with the radio( yes radio) and were praising God without even knowing it. I always thought stuff like this was one of the Holy Spirit's gentle little prods.
And yes we sang it in church and yes the congregations loved it.

I don't like this modernization in the Parishes. I like it to go back to the traditional chants and latin music.

Yeah, I remember it too......

And now I have another song I will have stuck in my head all day (maybe going to the Polish mass will counteract it).

Of course,if you REALLY want your fill of sappy 70's music, imagine the children's choir singing THIS at Mass:
