Byzantine
In my understanding that while accepting a banana from a Hindu priest that had been offered to an idol in one of their services (just to make it clear, this is with me standing by and witnessing said service as it's going on) would be a participation in idolatry by implying that I shared faith with them, picking up said banana off a table because someone had left it there had left it there (no opportunity for scandal; not in context of religious service) would not? MIKolbe
I am no scholar, but perhaps some scruple-free common sense is in order.... If the hindu dude is all like "here's a magic banana...i totally just offered it to my false god...it will soo give you good luck"; and you are all like, 'chya..totally...i gots teh bad luckz'...and you masticate it. DING DING DING...sin If the hindu dude is all like "here's banana..."; and you are all like, 'dude, you just offered that to vishna' and he's all like 'dude, free banana'...and you masticate it. I would lean to it not being a sin, as the hindu dude really sees nothing special about the banana. And I, really not knowing much about dude's religous thang, would most likely figure someone is attempting to give me free food. I normally see this as a good thing, unless Lil Red has cooked it. I mean, it's not what goes in us that defiles us, it's what comes out.. I least I think I read that soemwheres. I pray for God to replace all my current problems with these ones.
