Tab'le De'Bah-Rye
using the word 'you' as a deffinitive when generalising life, instead of possibly some or many people. The word you seems to me puts the person on the spot and challenges them to prove that your wrong and i hate it, i use it to much but not for that purpose but am seeing how it can come across.or even worse judgementally,YOU know how it is ? Don't you,Don't you huh ? What are you? an idiot? ARGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHH God bless you all. XIX
I just get annoyed when people complain about utterly trivial minutiae.

MissScripture
"no offense but...." then just shut your beaver dam piehole. in fact, i think i started a thread on that once. that spiraled into a debate.
When my brother and SIL were visiting the last time, we were discussing how pointless that phrase is, because people are still going to get offended, so we determined that if you start something with "No offense, but..." that must mean that legally the person cannot be offended by whatever you say, so you can say whatever rude thing you want. We proceeded to spend the visit saying things like, "No offense, but you really smell" and any other rude thing to each other that came to mind. We thought it was hilarious. My mom did not. OnlySunshine
I personally... (OK, we don't need to know that you feel personally about this...) With all due respect... (this usually means this person is just going to say something rude) Shouldn't of (I believe you mean "shouldn't have" ) Kewl Beans Same difference (my mom uses this all the time and it is so confusing!) A penny saved is a penny earned. (No, a penny saved is a penny saved. You can't earn something you already have...) If it's not one thing, it's another. (Well, duh!) From the get-go... Sooner rather than later... (another DUH! moment) Begs the question Guesstimate Comparing apples to oranges.. Not my cup of tea... (I have to admit, I've used this on occasion) If I've told you once, I've told you a thousand times... (No! You told me ONCE!) It was in the last place I looked... (Uh, you wouldn't keep looking if you found what you were looking for, right?!? ) Edited November 11, 2011 by MaterMisericordiae
