Brother Adam
I am using this handout to explain salvation tonight during our RCIA class. Trying to explain salvation in one page just about made my brain explode. Lisa
That is wonderful! If I was joining the Church, though, I think I would be afraid of the words concupiscence and soteriology
BigJon16
I think its pretty good. I actually learned a couple things from it. Thanks!
MIKolbe
i would also put a cf 1 Pet 3:21 next to the John 3:5... but then i am not a dre. lol I like it... This looks like a great document that can be used ALOT! You should get an NI and I on it!!!! (I'd lose the copywrite)
Brother Adam
Yeah, each sentence could be a whole class. I will walk them through the handout explaining each part and answering questions. I hated only having one page because there is infinitely more to be said. I highly recommend Part III of the Catechism on Law and Grace. I read it on a regular basis.
Brother Adam
Corrected minor errors and added the scripture passage. I'm required to put a copyright notice on anything I produce as part of my job and publish (such as online) because our diocese technically owns it, though they have no qualms about it being used. Papist
I like this. However, I like to include the importance of sacrifice in salvation history, and how it was necessary for the perfect sacrifice, Christ.
Brother Adam
Absolutely, which is why it is important to devote an entire night to the Paschal Mystery (which we did last week actually). Tonight we cover those specific topics of soteriology covered in the outline (which converts are usually directly concerned with) such as merit, works, grace, faith, and so on. brandelynmarie
I'm outta props...again. (Maybe tomorrow? ) Very concise, well-done. Although when I first read it, I'm like, "Who's handing out salvation now?!"
Vincent Vega
I'll prop it for you, Brother of Man.

Deb
I I think I would want to add a bit more on to.... "There is no salvation outside the Catholic Church" That is more of a blanket statement than what the doctrine means. Rest looks good.

"There is no salvation outside the Catholic Church" That is more of a blanket statement than what the doctrine means. Rest looks good. [/quote] i agree. it's very good and concise, of course and i like that you wrote original holiness/loss of preternatural gifts ... the only thing i would add is a note to go to the Catechism for further clarification because "There is no salvation outside the Catholic Church" might cause unnecessary alarm... maybe an asterix? Also i should say that i was hoping to learn how we do not hold a protestant "punishment/atonement theory" and similar warped theological interpretations.
