IrishG8s
Hey everyone, I just would like you guys to pray for me. I was told by my diocese that my application to the priest hood. It was kind of odd though. What they told me didn't make sense. They said that I moved around to much as a child. It seemed as if I skipped my adolescent years. That I need to make more friends. It seems as if I have to many girls who are friends, and that I would not fit that well in an all guy seminary(hmmm...) So basically told me to grow up live my life a little more. Now let me tell you what. I am absoultly crushed. I was told before that I was in a very liberal dioscese. But I know my call is to become a priest and I won't give up. So I am applying for another dioscese so pray that I can get in their. I really was given an unfair reason why I was not let in. The reasons they told don't make sense and the messages are coming true that our lady has predicted. I think they think I am to orthadox, because I preach out releigion without sugar coating. But I say it in words that are comforting, yet warning. Please keep me in your prayers. To make peace, prepare for war! I will become a priest no matter what the devil tries to do. I will not be discouraged, I will live for christ and lead more people to him. Everyone be a light to the world, may the holy spirit pour into your heart and may he cascade into waterfalls to the depths of your soul. Let his fire burn through you and may you ignight others with his never ending love. -IG-
IrishG8s
I should really read my own writing before I post it. My application was denied to go into the seminary. -IG-

JP2Iloveyou
I'm not in your shoes and I don't know your situation, but I would caution you in saying that you were denied because you are too orthodox. That may be the case but we should be very careful when when levying an accusation against someone. This was the main criticism against the book Goodbye Good Men, the author, Michael Rose, made blanket accusations without cross-checking his sources. In any event, you have a right to know why you were denied. Just out of curiousity, what diocese are you applying to now and where were you denied to? Katholikos
there's an answer, there's a reason for all, for everyone i just became really involved in this one order but it appears that they are extremely strict on virginity and i dun think ill be able to make it in, so i was very sad at first then i realized that maybe God wanted it this way you know? and then i thought about it more and God's been calling me to help his fallen catholic churches in mexico soooo.... although the scenerio changed a lil im still called to evangelize....so just for a while, stop talking and trying to make sense of it all, but just listen, God will tell you what you need to know
Aren't all seminaries "strict on virginity"? Diocesan priests are required to commit to chastity and obedience forever. Order priests are required to commit to poverty, chastity and obedience forever. Anyone in the unmarried state is expected to live chastely until married. Married folk are expected to live marital chastity. ?????????????????????????????????????????????? Anna
Agreed, Likos. Red flags went up when I read that post. Virginity/Chastity are not optional in the Catholic Faith. If you are not married, you are called to virginity! To act against virginity is a mortal sin. At Fatima, Our Lady told the three shepherd children that more souls go to hell because of sins of the flesh than any other sin. And she showed them hell. They spent the rest of their lives doing acts of penance and reparation to obtain the conversion of poor sinners. Avoid sins of the flesh, for the good of your soul. If you actually find an order which you believe is lax on virginity, either they are out of step with the Church's teachings, or you are out of step with what the order is really about. We are all called to sexual purity within our vocational state, be it married and chaste, or single and virgin. Too strict on purity????? No such thing! Pax Christi. <><
