Of course. I did say that I hoped the situation got better and I will pray for the person. I just like to take every chance I can get to make fun of myself. It helps a lot with humility. Perhaps this wasn't the best time to do it and I am sorry if it irritated you.

Now, back to the thread. I've been reading it and I'm glad everything seems to be working out. I'm a little jealous, to be honest. Parachuting sounds fun.

I know that you are trying to fit in around here and are honestly not trying to upset anyone. Why don't you try looking around at what jokes get the most props and see how they fit in specific situations? There is a place for everything and everything in its place. A joke made by, MIKolbe, for example, a father and husband and breadwinner and goofball, would be made in an entirely different context than a joke made my Lil'Monster, a lovable, crazy, young woman. To imitate is the sincerest form of flattery, but not necessarily for the person making it. Does that make sense?

His attorney did say that in the 30 years he's been an attorney in juvenile justice, he's never seen a more positive pre-sentencing report. He has complied with every request, he is respectful (or I'd have his legs broke), has kept every appointment, and has gone above and beyond by joining cadets and going to therapy. He has shown real remorse, is paying restitution even before being ordered to, and a couple of dozen letters of reference all saying what he did was completely out of character. So we are in another holding pattern, as often happens in these kinds of things.

We are waiting for our background checks to go through. We can't do anything more until then. I did find out that it is spelled Chimo. I tried searching for them to look up a phone number and all I got was cancer stuff.

The biggest hold up is that we just aren't done with the renovations. This is what happens when perfectionists get together. Zack and I that is. Austin would live on the sub floor and not notice for a few months.
