Maybe this would be a good book....
somethingfishy
What about a missal? It can be a lot easier to follow along and reflect on the Mass when you have the words in front of you. I was raised in a liturgical church so I didn't have too much difficulty, but some of my friends who were unchurched or raised in evangelical churches found them really helpful during their conversions. How wonderful that your coworker is already feeling led to consider the Church. Amazing how the Holy Spirit works in our lives before we even notice! vee
I am not sure. He's not stupid. But I doubt he could tackle Aquinas. dominicansoul
yeah, i don't think anyone could have ever tackled Aquinas.... mish, be your Catholic self, and he'll learn a lot more from you and you don't have to say one word....
Blessed&Grateful
I am in similar circumstances with someone I work with. She is Catholic but isn't as active as she would like. I have books to give her but I think the biggest reason she opened up to me was our conversations. Let him ask questions and show by example. OnlySunshine
The books that helped me the most after I made my reversion in 2007 were Catholic Questions and Answers books. These are the two I read: Catholic Questions, Catholic Answers by Fr. Kenneth Ryan Did Adam and Eve Have Belly Buttons? by Jeff Cavins I liked the second one much more as I felt that it answered all of my questions, including ones about the Mass. There is also this book: A Biblical Walk Through The Mass by Edward Sri I've never read it, but it has 5 star reviews on Amazon. missionseeker
I gave him a book I found in our store. I forgot what it was called. This weekend he asked me about daily mass.
DMcB
I've only recently returned to the Church, after a 20 year hiatus. The two books that I found to be great primers for getting my mind back on track were M. Kelly's, "Rediscover Catholicism" and J. Akin's "Mass Appeal." Additionally, I would suggest to your friend that listening to a Catholic radio station (or EWTN online) is a very easy way to get reacquainted with the faith. I have learned SOOOOO MUCH from "Catholic Answers" and "The Journey Home." And good-on-yah for being there for this friend of yours...it was a colleague of mine that reignited my interest in the Catholic church, and never once did he give me "the spiel", he simply inspired me through his efforts to live an authentic Catholic life.
