Basilisa Marie
I've gotten three tickets, each in a different state. The first and third were due to my lead foot on the highway. But with my second, I had just moved my car from Washington to Maryland, and thought the "50mph on country roads when no speed is posted" rule still applied. The officer looked at me like I was crazy when I tried to explain. Luckily he clocked me at 49 (apparently it was a 35), otherwise I could have also gotten a citation for reckless driving too. Washington doesn't do points, so my insurance just went up. Lucky me.
I would've thought the 50 on country roads thing too; that's what I was always taught by my driving tutor and by the handbook. Glad you were at 49! CatherineM
You've come a long way from worrying about trying to get a driver's license to worrying about trying to keep it.

Basilisa Marie
That's where I got my ticket - Maryland. I got caught by a state trooper.
Ew! Mine was just a local guy that was rather grumpy. My third one was a state trooper in VA, coming back from a vacation in Florida. I had just taken over driving from a friend and got pulled over for doing something like 11 over. Thing was, my friend had been doing about 20 over for the hour, and completely avoided the cops. I have all the luck, lol. Edited October 26, 2011 by Basilisa Marie

In VA, going over 70 is a misdemeanor. Luckily, he got out of it.
