Selah
I remember wondering if I could still say the rosary if I migrated eastward...I had heard most Eastern Orthodox and Eastern Catholics say that it's not really a prayer they say. I was a little sad and prayed about this. That night I remember I had a dream that I was praying the rosary...I don't remember, but apparently St. Seraphim of Sarov, an Eastern Orthodox Saint, had directed me to...and it turns out he loved to say the rosary as well. So I was happier I've had dreams about the Theotokos as well, as well as other "things" that happened involving her...that I'll keep to myself lol. But the above dream was very influential to me. Maccabeus
St. Michael has made an appearance in my dreams, usualy kicking arse.
Hey if you don't mind can you describe what he looked like, his face etc? The reason I'm asking is cause St. Michael The Archangel is my Confirmation patron saint. And I also dreamed about him once, We were standing close facing each other, I saw all his armour etc.
fides' Jack
I dreamed about the Blessed Virgin once, many, many years ago. She was standing over me, and there were aliens coming through the window, and she was telling me to go with them. No joke, as strange a dream as that is. arfink
I have a very visual prayer life, (pathetic as my prayer life has been lately) and I have seen some crazy stuff that'll be engraved on my heart forever. People who know me know that I have ADD. It makes concentration in prayer extremely difficult, but from time to time a series of images will unfold before my mind's eye, unbidden, unavoidable, and most certainly not from my own imagination. It doesn't happen often, mostly because IMABC and don't pray as often as I should be, but when it does I usualy just experience it first and only realize what's happened afterwards. That's one thing that my SD said would be a possible mark of authenticity- the spontaneity and clarity with which I see theses things indicates it's not coming from me, since that doesn't happen normally because of my ADD. Two examples- First, I have seen my angel. I know his name. When I pray in times of temptation I can usualy sense him coming to do battle. It's comforting to know he comes to fight for me. Otherwise it would be utterly terrifying- he's a total badass. Also, he didn't conform to the "knight in shining armor" stereotype at all. He was more like Rambo, only angelic. Also one time he told me he was upset I wouldn't let him tear my vices/temptations into bloody shreds. It was freaky. Second example- I used to be in seminary. I spent my last year there in a very dark spiritual state, because I knew I had to leave that place and would likely never become a priest. I was very depressed and was constantly confronted with my own inadequacy. In Mass one morning I was having a hard time paying attention to Mass, when suddenly I saw Mary come to me. She asked for my soul, and held out a small box lined with black velvet. It had a heart-shaped depression inside. I mentally assented, and when I next looked to the box it had what looked like a human heart inside of it. She closed the box, and deposited it in the open tabernacle. She told me as long as I remained there with her Son I would always be safe and happy. It was initially shocking, emotionally conflicting, and utterly humbling. Unfortunately my heart is very hard, and I often wonder how much time my heart actually spends with the Lord, but that sight won't be leaving me very soon. Deb
I have had a few dreams, but I tend to see Jesus and Mary and the Saints more when I am awake. Jesus usualy always comes during Mass (not just in the Eucharist) and St. Therese used to come alot and St. Pio and St. Paul. Lots of random people come. Lots of souls in purgatory came when I was in Israel. I like it.
Maccabeus
Another favourite dream of mine: Many years ago, when I graduated from college and started working having a hard time making ends meet, my job at the time changed from full time to part time. And I was extremely stressed in all sort of ways. I dreamed that I saw myself sitting on my bed at night, unable to sleep or lay down because of life stress. In the dream there were many different clouds in my bedroom all very different colours symbolizing all the stress' of my life. Than the Virgin Mary appeared in glory standing in the air near the window, and I looked at her, and out of her came extremely bright light, so bright that I instantly had to look away, it was totally unbarable, I turned my head to the side, I watched what was happening and the Light was making the clouds disappear. After the process I looked at her, and she gently faded away. The next day after work, and drove to my parents house, and the moment that I grabbed the door knob to open the door, My mom hung up the phone, when I entered she told me some guy wants to interview me. I ended up getting the job, and worked there for 6 years. Stress gone.
