PS- What is the third to last song on the second video? It's not from the Therese soundtrack, and I know I've heard it before! I think it's a hymn..
Do you mean this hymn?

You know what DS, in re-reading what you read I see what you mean. That is indeed confusing and why did she pick 1990 what is the significance of that? why not 1890?

The 1581 Constitutions are the ones we know as 1990s. The Constitutions of 1581 accomodated to Vatican Council II and to current canonical laws
according to to the norms given by His Holiness John Paul II on 15th. October 1984. Promulgated by him on 8th. December 1990, Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception

The Sisters used some songs from the Eucharistic Hymns by the Daughters of St. Paul. I went to the Daughters' website and listened to the hymn clips and the song you are looking for is Adoro te Devote:

This Carmel is featured as one of a few women's orders in the Cloistered Life site called "A Day Within the Walls": http://www.cloisteredlife.com/carmelites/

The Carmelite Monastery of the Holy Cross located in Iron Mountain, MI has a new website and my visit to it revealed that they have posted some beautiful videos. The videos relate the story of the life of a Carmelite candidate from postulancy to solemn profession and is told by a Sr. Sarah who later becomes Sr. Christina of the Heart of Mary. I recognized the background music as being the soundtrack from one of my favorite movies, Therese (2004). I encourage anyone with a call to religious life, especially to the Carmelites, to view these videos on their website. I was in tears during the second video because of how the Sisters' prayer life can assist the world in its grievances. I was so glad to see them. :)

This is just beautiful. I love Carmelites, they are very near and dear to my heart.

I have a book of letters that a Sister (from this Carmel specifically) wrote to her family from the day of her entrance until a little while after she received the habit. My friend found it for me at a thrift store. :|

the things people give away, what a treasure.

But to see actual pictures is wonderfully breathtaking. :)

Okay, I've been meaning to post here forever!! Thanks for sharing this MM! I actually ran into these videos like a month ago on youtube, but then they disappeared! So now they're on their site, yay! :)

This was the first 1990 Carmel I formally visited. They are truly a beautiful community. I don't think I can find words to adequately describe them or my visit there ... I love them so much!! Mother Maria of Jesus is so full of wisdom and is just wonderful to talk with :saint:

If anyone ever wondered what Carmel I am referring to at the beginning of my "now famous" (in Aya Sophia's words :hehe:) thread on the subject .. yeah, it's them :like: Just had that first post edited because I didn't want them getting in trouble or anything! .. just to be more general and all. But yeah, definitely a fantastic Carmel!!

This is soo true!! Moral of the story: learn or at least become familiar with the Divine Office before you enter! (though of course they'll teach you! :j)
