sistersintigo
Boston's Archbishop, Sean Cardinal O'Malley, has announced that a charism with its roots in a discernment group in his diocese will be permitted to form a religious order. The discernment group is from Boston University's Catholic campus ministry, and the group was facilitated by long-time chaplain Sr. Olga of the Eucharist / Olga Yaqob, an Iraqi of Assyrian ancestry from her country's Christian minority. The campus-ministry discernment group has resulted in a few members following a religious vocation as far as ordination or entering a congregation. Sister Olga's new congregation/order is to begin with a number of young women who were discernment-group members and who want to follow her into vowed religious life. Here are some links. Feankie
Sr. Olga stands 4 feet, 10i inches tall. Though she's small in stature by the worlds standards, she makes up for that with her faith, fidelity, and courage as she answers God's call in formation of a new religious order. Many blessings to her and her daughters as they begin this amesome undertaking

Please note the following: Sr Marian Batho, CSJ is the diocesan Delegate for Religious, her office phone is 617 - 746 - 5637. She is also responsible to the Consecrated Virgins and diocesan Hermits, as well as Consecrated Life in its more conventional form. I can't locate her e-mail. December 10 is the date of a Boston Catholic Conference, both men AND women, in Lowell, Massachusetts. It is a daytime event. The Vigil Mass in early evening will CONCLUDE the conference, and Sean Cardinal O'Malley will preside. Before that Mass, speakers available for lectures and to ask questions will include Sr. Olga of the Eucharist.

Unfortunately, I am based in the UK so attending the conference is out of the question. I will however note the telephone number for Sister Marian. Thanks again! Presently this is really the only way to get more contact/information regarding consecrated life in this diocese, particularly about the new congregation, Daughters of Mary Our Lady of Nazareth, and its founder Sr. Olga of the Eucharist. They're Maronite Catholics. Mother Olga is from Iraq, and I think she was originally some form of Orthodox but became a Latin Rite Catholic.
