Hope you like what you end up choosing :) Though if you do end up teaching yourself Spanish and run into snags and it would mess with your schedule to take some classes...you could always *glances around to make sure no one from the Registrar's office is around* use Rosetta Stone. I dunno what Steubie charges per credit, but with what they charge per credit here, it would actually be cheaper to buy the $400 software.

One of the most important things about college is considering all the options available. B already has an A in critical thinking!

Can I give you my scholar (our AP, since there's no AP test in World Lit, and we partner with LaRoche's Scholar Program) world lit teacher's contact info so you can tell her that? Oh wait... Never mind... She wants improvement, no matter what level we're at, so it'll just end in more work for me. (Insert tangent about the amesomeness of my scholar world lit teacher). Don't double major. If you double major, you wont have any room for any elective outside of those two departments. It sounds like you are looking to get as broad and well rounded educated as you can, and I personally think that not limiting your options is the best way of doing so.

I'm speaking as a senior at a Catholic college. I had originally intended to double major in math and philosophy, but I realized that if I were to do so, I wouldn't have any room for electives, and that was coming in with 32 AP credits! I have taken many philosophy classes, but I've also taken an extra four theology classes, a course on King Arthur, a semester of History of Science, etc. Do you see where I'm going with this?

I do. Thank you. Does it make any difference that I'm not considering majors in anything that seems to have a huge credit requirement (please excuse my naivety if I'm missing something)?

Not really. Like my school, FUS has a two year core, and your outside credit isn't really going to dent that. I mean, if you got there and fell in love with French, by all means major in it, but, honestly, you can get the same benefit from taking just some of the classes and taking other electives as you would from majoring in it, especially as a priest. You can learn Spanish without doing it as a major, and that would save you from a 30 pages thesis (in spanish!) and another set of comps.

That is, does FUS require comps and a thesis? If not, LAME.

Yeah... No language major for me. But I still think it might help my image if I could say I had a major in multimedia or something. You know, something that'll bring the kids around?

I feel like this thread is going off topic at a very high speed.

Exactly the sort of response I would expect from a corporatist totalitarian.

I support centralized banking and the unending inflation which it brings.
