this is a little verse I wrote today

This is a little recreation
That wont change the face of the nation
Or all the problems destroying my generation
Not a fervent oration
Of peace to those who are hating
Nor a hope or relating
Truth’s I’ve been contemplating
Not uncovering the political lies
Coming at us in disguise
Attacking the freedom
Of those who believe in Him
Not a warning that soon
We’ll have to go underground
For the truth to stay alive
And a witness to be found

Not asking us to look around
Or to hear what can’t be said out loud
Or to weep for the many
Swept away by the current of the crowd
Don’t feel for the youth
Who walk in darkness
Or pray that the Lord
to send true workers for His harvest
so many are lost
and I’m no better than them
so many have suffered
have bled, feel condemned

This is just a little recreation
That won’t do much
Because my words are weak
And our world needs far more
Than hearing me speak

I put my trust in the Lord that He may act
He has not left us desolate
He speaks to us through his little ones
