OK so my phone fell a couple of weeks ago and the screen shattered (but it still worked so I kept using it after putting a screen protector on - I was cutting myself on the glass) Then on Sunday it fell again and broke even more so my sister offered to buy me a phone (she had an upgrade coming) so she got me the EVO because I needed a smartphone for work purposes. Now however, the iphone has come out to sprint and that's the phone she was going to get for me had my screen not shattered even further. She still has time to return the EVO and get me the iphone but my question is should I? The phone I had before was over two years old but I loved it and it was android based, I am comfortable with using either the EVO or the iPhone; the cost (as far as the monthly plan cost) will not be different regardless of the model.

So I just want to know for practical reasons, what do you think I should go with. Please post a reply in addition to voting so that I can get a sense of what your thoughts are.

Mille mercis!

I just like droids..it is great as a work phone, syncs very well...all the important software is pretty lightweight...I am more of a PC guy anyways...

It depends; miKolbe said, droid is good for work stuff. iPhone is good though for movies, silly apps, etc.

I would definitely need something that's good for work stuff. Right now blackboard comes in no problem and EagleNet (the student system we use come in easily) Although the mainframe system acts up on the EVO I wonder how it does on the iphone....

Do you have a friend who has an iPhone that you could try it a few times on maybe? I know a lot of iPhone users around here are rather...evangelical...about getting one.

hahaha evangelical. I love it. Yeah I do, in fact I am going to ask one of my colleagues who also teaches what she thinks of it. I know it EagleNet works well on it but I don't know about blackboard and the mainframe system. Now if the mainframe system works well, I would be sold on the iphone.

I've had both the iphone (3GS) and the android (HTC Evo, not the one with the keyboard though). Like the android better though. But ... my only gripe is that it only came with a 8gb card. That's not enough for a music person like me.

But then again I just started hating the iphone due to the service issues I had. It may not have been the phone but more of a problem with AT&T (I 100% dislike AT&T ... sprint has been good thus far).

I wished iTunes came for the android though ... then I'd definitely be 100% pleased with the Evo.

Well sprint has the iphone soooooooooooo

Thanks for the info Cmaria. I am really starting to enjoy the EVO (definitely starting to get more at ease with the idea of putting a computer to my head every time I answer the phone) I am waiting to try something on my colleague's iphone in terms of how the iphone works with the software/programs I use at work and I think that will be my deciding factor.

... I have no idea. I'm so technologically disavanced. I really do have the phone that Max suggested. :|
