Steve Jobs Has Died

Not that my mom isn't up on tech stuff, I called her, "Sad news...Steve Jobs died!"
"Who?"

I have to say I'm getting upset at Facebook by posts like "Looks like PC finally has a virus that kills a Mac" and "Why should I care, I'm a PC person". A man died and at a relatively young age, that should be reason enough to care.

So passes the glory of the world. May he rest in peace. All that money and no more time to enjoy it. Money isn't everything, take heed.

Paraphrasing Steve Jobs from his 2005 Commencement Speech to Stanford that CNN just played. He had just told the students about beating Pancreatic cancer not long before, "No one can escape death, and no one should be able to. Death is just the end of life, it clears out the old and brings in the new. Sorry to be dramatic, but your time is limited, so don't waste it living someone else's life"

The news of Jobs death was the first thing I saw when I opened my browser tonight. Even though I'm not a Mac person, he was quite an amazing guy. Prayers for him.

Also, did you that he was adopted? It's a great pro-life story:
Since this is Respect Life Sunday, and the beginning of Respect Life month, I wanted to talk about one woman who did respect life – and her choice has made a difference in the life of virtually every person in this church.
Her name is Joanne Schiebel. In 1954, she was a young unmarried college student who discovered that she was pregnant. In the 1950s, her options were limited. She could have had an abortion – but the procedure was both dangerous and illegal. She could have gotten married, but she wasn’t ready and didn’t want to interrupt her education. Joanne opted, instead, to give birth to the baby and put it up for adoption.
And so it was that in 1955, a California couple named Paul and Clara Jobs adopted a baby boy, born out of wedlock, that they named Steven.
We know him today…as Steve Jobs.
Read more here....

R.I.P. Steve. Thanks to your biological mom for choosing life and your adopted mom for giving you life. The world is a little better because you were in it.

I. Hate. Pancreatic. Cancer.

I didn't know he had it until I heard that he died. My grandma and my pretend grandma both died of it. He's lucky that he lived as long as he did. I hope that this will bring more awareness to the no good, awful, terrible, very bad disease.
