Chiara Francesco
The Little Sisters of the Poor threads made me think of these sisters who also work with the elderly. Chiara Francesco
In watching these videos, I just learned that the foundress of this order was originally a Little Sister of the Poor and left to form this order. I prefer the foundresses habit than this modified, shortened one. They do wonderful work.

I had no idea that their foundress was an LSP until I watched this video. But, I will admit that I do not find their habit and veil all that attractive. It wouldn't keep me from entering if I was truly called there, but it is not my preference. I prefer the longer veils without the point in the middle and the long, ankle length habit. It elongates the body and makes the person appear thinner.
LadyOfSorrows
I know an ex Carmelite of the Aged and Infirm. She is now in her 70's...she showed me some pictures of herself in the habit before it was modified...I couldn't believe it was her!
faithcecelia
I've never seen veils like that before, I wonder what the origin of that shape is? I think, given the nature of their work, their shorter habits are probably far more practical than an ankle length one - I wear full length skirts almost all the time, but I can wash clothes daily if I need to, I imagine their work aprons will pretty much cover their habits at that length.
