Temptation

Recommended Posts

Guys, I've read (on a blog) that knowingly exposing oneself to temptations is a sin. Now, whenever I go to school I am tempted to sin (lust mainly), and I know that I'll be tempted, and I resolve not to give in. But in my present understanding, this seems like it could be sinful. I feel like I'm missing something that'll make this seemingly huge problem go away. Is there? Can I get an explanation? Thanks!

If you are going to live in society, you are going to have the near occasions of sin. I'm an over the hill handicapped woman, and I still have to deal with things like seeing buff guys at the swimming pool, cute guys in class, racy commercials on TV. You can control what you see to a certain extent. Going into a strip club is a no-no, watching the playboy channel, the same. You can't control the things you have to see on the street, in school, but you do have control over how you act upon the things you see. It is really hard to be a young person today. You are bombarded by things that wouldn't have been allowed when I was your age. Do the best you can to protect yourself and try to find people to hang out with who are trying to do the same. That really helps.
