OnlySunshine
I always thought Redwoods were fascinating because of their sheer size. I love Dogwood trees because my Nana gave my sister and I one when we were little. It was at my old house and I miss that tree because of the beautiful flowers: But if I had to pick one tree over all the rest, it would be cherry:
CatherineM
Definitely a Ginkgo. They are the oldest species, surviving unchanged since the days of the dinosaur. They only survived at one time because they were kept alive in the courtyards of Asian monasteries. Plus, they can be bonsaied. Sadly they don't grow very well here so the best we can do is Beccariophoenix alfredii. It's a high altitude relative of the coconut found in Madagascar that is hardy. Here's a picture of them in Madagascar. I'm growing some of these here to give my place a tropical look.
