Any Bread Bakers?

I'm interested in making my own bread and would like to make whole wheat bread, but I haven't been able to find a recipe I like. Any suggestions from personal experience?
Thanks. :)

If you wait until after I move, I can help. I used to make kick arse bread. Which type do you like?

I meant like do you like light and airy bread or a nice full bread. Do you like sweeter bread or more ...regular tasting bread. lol.

I recommend a recipe like this http://www.kingarthurflour.com/recipes/vermont-whole-wheat-oatmeal-honey-bread-recipe

The honey adds a nice flavor and the oatmeal is great for the texture. I love cooking oatmeal breads. Also... I highly highly reccomend the King Arthur flower Pan de Mie pan. I've had my mother's for years. :|

Bread...just as good as cookies cuz they are carbs. :) My only suggestion would be to find a recipe that does use a little white flour as it does give it a softer crumb. Oh & use honey, most definitely. :like:

King Arthur Flour (publ. of my favorite baking cookbook on earth's face, their 200th anniv cookbook) have wonderful recipes on their site: http://search.kingarthurflour.com/recipes/search.jsp?Nty=1&rt=r&N=1000014&Ntt=whole+wheat+bread

They also now have a cookbook just for whole grains: http://www.kingarthurflour.com/baking/bookstore.html

I used to love making bread by hand, and then one day I bought a breadmaker and loved it! so much easier.

The danger of making bread however is that it smells so good when it is cooking, then I always want to eat it hot, covered with butter.... dangerous stuff for the figure!

I can give you the recepie for 8x2lb loaves in one go if you like???? Okay, maybe not!

My boss makes (in a breadmaker but willwork by hand) a lovely oat and onionseed bread. We make it white but it would work wholemeal, I'd just let it rise a bit longer. I will pm you when Im home Friday.

I make bread a lot. I use the breadmaker for everyday sandwich loaves (for now, won't have it in the US), but do everything else by hand. Except for pizza dough - the breadmaker will do that, too! Tonight I'm making rosemary garlic wheat rolls, last night I made baguettes. I usually do a combo of wholemeal and white flour.
