Leg ins.

You mean like...pantaloons?

I like those. And I am in favor of women wearing them very often. Even to Mass.

I want a girl who gets up early
I want a girl who stays up late
I want a girl with uninterrupted prosperity
Who uses a machete to cut through red tape
With fingernails that shine like justice
And a voice that is dark like tinted glass

The Torah???? I should start taking dress advice from the Torah?? I don't think so - sorry Tabla.

As for St Paul, I would much prefer to see people following Paul's advice on things like not being jealous and speaking kindly etc before I worry about whether women should cover their hair or grow it long etc. Sometimes people 'swallow the camel and strain at a gnat' in my opinion.

You are certainly entitled to your own view of the biblical dress code, but times change and as long as people dress modestly and appropriately for the situation, I don't think we need to slavishly follow Old Testament (or even New Testament) dress codes. I'd rather focus on 'cleaning the inside of the bowl'. :)

ever heard of the eternal word ? but i understand what your saying, but remember what jesus said also "if the inside is clean so will be the outside" our feelings can decieve us at times to that we are clean on the inside when where actually not,but in that also a man in rags can be as unclean on the inside as a man in a tuxedo, think and pray about it. And i'm not knit picking, i don't wan't to be the cause of anyones fall from there magic carpet ride i will leave that to the angels to pick at fraying magic carpets.
Please take no offense nunsense and yes i am serious about this, but please don't take my seriouseness as an attack on you personaly or morally i started this for general conversation and hope everybody read what i am posting now.

God bless you all.

unsure what pantoons are but leg ins are i guess like spandex (or whatever material it is) nicker bockers, but some only goto the knees, some of the tennis women where them,or they used to anyhow underneath there short skirt, and the advancement in material technologies some even keep you cooler in summer, hence why some of the top tennis players where or used to where them. If thats what a pantaloons is i will give your post props, let me know.

God bless.

No offense taken at all. We are all entitled to our own opinion, even in matters relating to angels and magic carpets! :)

Clothing is an issue that is particulary personal and does require some degree of interpretation as to what is modest and what is not. The Church does not ban p.ants (the f.ilter will change this to pantaloons) for women, nor does it state that women must have long hair or covered hair, etc. And I think that to focus too much on these things can lead one into becoming a pharisee in attitude - always looking, judging and condemning others for their actions, while missing out on the more important things in scripture. I am not saying you are doing this - but I have to admit that I don't always understand what you post - perhaps a language barrier?

I wear skirts and p.ants, I wear my hair covered sometimes, and not on others. I wear what I consider is modest according to time place and situation. I am not going to wear a 1900s swimming costume at the beach. I will wear shorts and sleeveless tops in 40+C degree heat here in Australia when the occasion warrants it and jeans when doing dirty work or when I want to be casual. Common sense is my guide. And I don't think God is offended by the human body - He just wants us to respect it and each other and to be sensitive to offending others and avoid causing occasion for sin.

edit: I also think that when Jesus sat and ate with the prostitutes and tax collectors that he didn't spend His time with them chastising them for what they wore (I am sure some of those prostitutes did not dress as modestly as the other women of the day) - but was more concerned with the state of their souls. As they grew in holiness through being around Him, they probably adjusted their clothes as well as their attitudes, but it would not have been his primary focus! IMO :P

I don't have much to add here, you guys have already hit on many of the reasons why I have never worn a short skirt, although I have never worn a long skirt either...
