In many a Northern state, you'd have to deal with people thinking you were nuts for being anti-abortion and pro-traditional marriage. It's not sprinkles and jellybeans for Catholics anywhere.

And for the record, the Church does not tell us that we need to be pro-gun control.

Actually, as a group, people in the South tend to be more anti-abortion and pro-traditional marriage than people in the North. Bible Belt and all.

I thought "fascist" and "Nazi" were the preferred epithets for attacking people with socially conservative views.
"Socialist/communist" is generally reserved for attacking tree-hugger hippie liberal Democrat types.
