KarenJoanna
For some candy I stole at stores mnay years ago, the stores are still open but if I donate some things to charity would I make up the reparation for stealing that? Also getting things from my sister without asking but I said to her yesterday that i have gotten some things from her in the past when I ran out of them, since we do that with our stuff i guess. Also what worried me the most is that I have stolen hundreds of illegal stuff from the internet, music, movies etc, or bought illegal copies and also my family hasnt paid for cable service for many years and we have been getting it for free, how can I make up for that? It's alot of money. I already erased most of the illegal things i downloaded or have gotten rid of it and as for paying for cable I keep telling my parents to start paying for it from now on. Do I have to make reaparation for this. I didnt really look at this as stealing much in the past, I knew it was illegal I guess, but I never or almost never thought as stealing. Please help me. My concious is killing me and I want to be forgiven and not sin no more.
Pontifex
For all things stolen we are on to make restitution. If you confess stealing, the priest should give you directives for making restitution. If you haven't done so already, go to confession for these things and hopefully the priest will follow what I have described for you. Relax, you are in the process of being enlightened by Jesus of right and wrong. He loved you and drew you even before you knew it was wrong. He loves you and will be patient with the process. The Candy: Yes, give some money to a poor box. Your Sister: Telling her about it and working it out with her is enough. The Cable: It's your parents responsibility. You've done your part to point it out. Now it's up to them. The intellectual property you stole, since you have erased it, etc. I wouldn't get overwhelmed with the amount that it cost. Again, on this part I would seek the advice of a confessor, ask for his directives, if he fails to offer it and do what he requests. Get back with me if you still have questions, Send me a private message. Relax, He loves you.
