Aya Sophia
Wonderful. What more is there to say? (If this monk isn't already novice master he ought to be!)

HopefulBride
I totally cried during this. Hearing it in french I could actually hear his heart and his sincerity and I could not have said that any better. This is exactly how I feel and I wish I could be as eloquent as he is when explaining why religious life is the call for me. Oh wow I am still in awe. AccountDeleted
Someone hacked my reply! I didn't write "visitin'" or "matey"!!
That's why I didn't write too much on the 19th! Pirate speak took over! Yes, going to visit the OSBs and also a Visitation convent - not for me, but because my friend is probably going to enter there and I want to see her community before she does. She came to visit me when I was in Carmel, so I hope to visit her at the Visitation (if she enters before I do, which it looks like she will). I read all the Cadfael murder mysteries (about a Benedictine monk in medieval days who solves murders) and now I am reading all the ones by Margaret Frazer about Dame Frevisse,a Benedictine nun in the 1400s who does the same thing. Funny how these medieval Benedictines had so much time to solve murders, isn't it? But the writing is good and I love all the references to reciting the Office!! They had eight Offices then of course (Prime having been ejected these days) - anyway, it's my 'fix' until I can actually go and visit with them. brandelynmarie
On my way home from work this morning, I was thinking, "What is true freedom for me?" And for him to explain that the 3 vows can be seen as 3 freedoms...oh wow...
