What Exactly Does "carmel" Mean?

Greetings ~

Any Hebrew scholars out there who can confirm the exact meaning of the word "Carmel" (כַּרְמֶל)?

I had always thought it was "Garden of God" but now I see it also translated as "Vineyard..." and "Orchard..." Or, is it that general a term that it can be translated in all these ways?
