OnlySunshine
I have been struggling with my weight for quite a while. I gained most of it when I was on a certain antidepressant I am no longer taking but it has been VERY difficult to get it under control. Fortunately, the antidepressant I am on now doesn't cause weight gain, so there is nothing being added to it. I've decided that, since I am serious about discerning religious life, I need to be serious about my health as well. My confessor this weekend reminded me that my body is a temple of the Holy Spirit and whatever I put into it must glorify Him. It really hit home for me and I made a solemn promise that I would stop snacking so much and try to eat more healthy. My one weakness is Coca-Cola and other soft drinks. I stopped drinking it from November 2010 to March 2011 and started up again. Since then, it has spiraled out of control. I know how bad it is for my bones and teeth but I still drink it. I've managed to whittle it down quite a bit, though. Please pray that I can stop eating poorly. I really need to be physically healthy, not only for religious life, but also because I don't want to get major health problems in old age. Thanks.
