OnlySunshine
Last night, I said a bittersweet goodbye to my friend who is leaving in about 7 hours to take the red eye to Gatwick Airport in London, England. She gave me a beautiful copy of the Imitation of Christ, which I have a copy of already, but my translation is kind of difficult to read. The one she gave me is really nice. It has a nice ribbon bookmark and it zips all the way around. I was so happy when she gave it to me that I almost cried. I was a little upset, too, because I forgot to bring my card with me to give to her! I'm planning on sending a little packet of the "Thinking of You" card, a "Thank You" card, and some pictures that we took last night together (one is of her, our pastor, and me). Last night was the CRHP meeting and I got to see all my new friends again! It was about 2.5 hours long and we got to share our experiences and how the retreat changed us. I told everyone about my discernment with the RSMs and how God got the ball rolling right after I got home. Everyone was so sweet. The ladies kept giving me hugs and words of encouragement. They are truly an amesome bunch. I cannot wait to start the formation meetings next Tuesday!
You're probably going to have to snail mail them, nunsense. I don't understand why people don't answer email if they have one, but it happens, and often from the sound of it. Enclose a self addressed stamp envelope to Australia (you're in AU not NZ, right?)--so that they can't use the --"don't know the postage"--excuse.
They don't answer posts on their website using the 'contact us' message form, emails sent to their email address or phone messages left on their voicemail (and I have tried phoning several times and never manage to get a human answering the phone). I haven't tried fax yet, but if they have one, that might be next. I sent two faxes to English convents and got one email reply and one snail mail reply from those. I think there should be an Internet business set up to send snail mails for people - kinda like faxes - you send an email with the snail mail details and the company puts the email in an envelope and posts it for you. I hate the whole snail mail thing. I have a card right now sitting on my kitchen counter, waiting to go to a friend, and I keep forgetting to take it with me to put in the mailbox! Even to pay bills, I go online and let my bank send a cheque out for me! As for sending a self-addressed, stamped envelope to the US - that might be a little hard since I have no way to access US stamps!! I can't put on Australian stamps for something they are going to mail in the US. But I could send a self-addressed envelope and look up the postage online and tell them how much it will cost them.... The convent in Perth used to have a room for mail - with a table and envelopes and paper and tape for packages, scales for weighing mail, and a small set of drawers full of stamps of different amounts, so that the sisters could weigh their mail, look up the postage in a little booklet, then put on the correct stamps, before putting the mail in a box to be taken to the PO. I will try again to contact them, but since England is my next trip, I am focusing on convents there first. I could probably go via the US on the way back, so thought I should check out a few US ones too, but there is no hurry at this point in time. My SD and I are getting together next week to discuss the possibilities for next year.

OnlySunshine
I was visiting the RSM website a minute ago and just noticed that the Sisters engage in teaching in seminaries! I had a thought that it would be incredibly amazing to help teach and form the future priests! Wow! What amazing work the Sisters do. I cannot wait to meet them. If you can find the right link for Australia, then maybe I can do something about it. I looked at Australia Post but didn't find anything about international coupons but maybe you will have more luck! If England has it - then Australia probably does too but I haven't heard of them.
