AccountDeleted
It is an interesting transformation from the Salesian charism to the Benedictine one, but just shows how a community can grow and evolve. May God be with her always.
Aya Sophia
Lovely! Can a community with the status "Public Association of the Faithful" begin to receive candidates and offer a canonical novitiate/formation?

krissylou
I thought the name of the community had been changed to "Mother of Our Hope" -- I guess it changed back?
AccountDeleted
I thought the name of the community had been changed to "Mother of Our Hope" -- I guess it changed back?
This is pure speculation but it may be that while in St Louis (where they had some controversies), they may have felt inclined to play down the 'Israel' aspect of things, but now that they are in a different location with a different Bishop, things can be what they were originally? It does appear that they have returned to their original name.

inperpetuity
This is wonderful. Bishop Slattery's homily is so beautiful!
LadyOfSorrows
Beautiful! And I love how they returned to the original name. How very important in this time.
Luigi
My only concern is that if the community experienced controversy with the name in one location/time, they may experience controversy in future places/times. Unless they expect to minister in only one place?
begin_again
Don't you think that if Bishop Slattery thought there would be a problem, he would have advised Mother Miriam differently? I am so very happy for Mother Miriam; she is in a wonderful diocese! I pray for her and the growth of her order daily.
LadyOfSorrows
There's controversy every which way between Catholics and non-Catholics but that doesn't meant we surrender our beliefs. Good for Mother Miriam for keeping the name.
