Sojourner
Thankfully, I am not paying for cable, so I'm not supporting this carp.
Thy Geekdom Come
This doesn't surprise me. The "Nick News" show, which is essentially a bunch of kids discussing the issues with an adult, had a "special" on children with actively gay parents...this was like 5 or 6 years ago. Thomas Michael
Disney also owns the "ABC Family Channel", which used to be the Christian Broadcasting Network. Some of the shows and movies they put on there nowadays are quite questionable in "family" value. Who's Line Is It Anyway can get a bit raunchy on occasion. And what's "The Birdcage" movie doing on there??? I bet Pat Robertson is banging his head against a brick wall on a daily basis for selling his network out like that. ilovechrist
Thomas M, Whose Line does get raunchy at times.. but ya gotta admit they're pretty funny Wayne Brady is great... but both Disney and Nick seem to be headed down the drain with their "new, improved" shows... my lil sis likes Dora the Explorer, and even that is starting to show some changes in its programming--that's pretty sad. I used to watch the ones on religion but they got me (more so Discovery) realllllllly mad on Easter and I was yelling and screaming. But the history stuff otherwise is pretty good, maybe a bit over dramaed, but good. What do you expect from someone who is owned by the same comapny as MTV? ABC family used to be okay. It was the only TV I watched (30 minutes a day). And I watched it with my sister. The show was State of Grace, lol, I would watch that show with my priest sitting next to me and my mum there so I figured it was okay. And it was. So ABC cancaled it. Ash Wednesday
You guys should see TV in Sweden. Oh. My. Gourd. They were having some kind of youth game show, with adolescents playing. One of the questions was something along the lines of "What do you do if you're buying a condom and your partner's sister is the grocery checker?" and at some point they were discussing with the crowd why it was embarassing to buy a condom and whatnot. I was shocked because this wasn't a show for 18 and above, it was more like, probably 16-17 and UNDER. I mean there were really YOUNG kids in the audience. My boyfriend said to me sarcastically, "Welcome to Sweden" Of course before Americans breathe a sigh of relief that we aren't Sweden, truth be told we, too, are headed in Western Europe's liberal direction. BeenaBobba
That makes me sad about Nickelodeon. I used to watch shows on that channel all the time when I was a kid. Maybe we could write Nickolodeon letters saying why we disagree with the show. What do y'all think? God bless, Jennifer
