Postulant Angela With The Rockford Pccs!

I've noticed the clothing ceremonies at Spanish Carmels seem to always be public, at least a few I know of .. whereas I know of at least one French one, Des Plaines, where it is entirely private. They are still behind the grille in their own choir and all but you can hear everything and even see the Sister a bit if you really try :detective: Here is part of one from Elysburg, http://en.gloria.tv/?media=122205

I went to one at Dallas Carmel and here is how it went .. at first you could visit with the Sister in the parlor in her wedding dress  Then came time for Holy Mass, which was an EF Low Mass, and it began with the clothing. The ceremony was pretty much identical to the one in the St. Teresa of the Andes movie here (it was uploaded again, and this time the whole thing!! yay!! only it's without English subtitles) And after Mass, after a time of thanksgiving, you could visit with the newly clothed Novice in the parlor again! :)

Angela's clothing will be somewhat similar. Clare~Therese (thank you for letting me know I need to empty my inbox, btw) so at the 7 am Mass, as she described it in her letter to me, the "novice-elect" is in her wedding dress and the chaplain blesses the Holy Habit. However, the actual clothing ceremony will take place a little while after that. She did not say exactly when, but after Mass and thanksgiving they will have a little breakfast for me, and then Mother Abbess said Sr. Angela will go outside for picture taking, so there will be some more time after that. Then the clothing ceremony begins in the parlor (she will still have her wedding dress) with a blessing from their chaplain for the soon-to-be Novice, and then the Sisters go to their enclosed choir for the investiture. The ceremony used to be in the public chapel, she said, but this way they do not need to leave the enclosure. She said I should be able to hear the ceremony and they will have a program for me to follow. After that the new Novice will return to the parlor for visiting! :nun:

Clare-Therese if you live nearby but maybe can't make it for the 7 am Mass and/or be there the whole time, I can always give you my number and you can call to ask when exactly the clothing will take place and Sister will be in the parlor for visiting. I will send you a PM anyway.. you may be able to reply to it which I've found is the case, even when my inbox is full.

Yes, I will send a full report, lol though it may be a bit later or even Sunday because I have to go somewhere else tomorrow night and I may be exhausted when I return (have to get up super early tomorrow to make it for 7 am Mass in Rockford!) Thanks for your notes and prayers for her! I will pass them along!

Just this description is so beautiful! It makes me get excited to go and visit a monastery, and to be able to be there on such a special day too ... I will be looking forward to hearing about it. God reward you and I hope that your time there is filled with blessings for you also (just being there will be a great blessing.) :cloud9:
