carmenchristi Posted September 2, 2011 Share Posted September 2, 2011 I don't practice corporal penance but I think I would find it easier to that than to patiently bear the day-to-day sacrifices that the Lord asks of me. For me, it would be a way making myself feel "in-order" and probably forgetting more important things. I do agree with those who say that penance is private... I know what LilRed mean when she says that once you say some things, you don't want to do them anymore. It's like that for me with certain forms of prayer too...
