IcePrincessKRS
My Catholic high school had a track anyone could exercise on. In the summer, an older guy with a belly frequently walked the track in nothing but an orange speedo. Let me say, all the band members were scared for life.
This post would have been even more epic if you'd said "tangerine speedo" hahahaha
Ice_nine
Yeah I'm gonna say it's more how men act and talk rather than how they look. I mean when people see a naked women in the media it's portrayed as something sexy, or hawt whereas men use nakedness for humor. Or that's how it tends to be. I have no specific examples. I fail. *A lot of times I don't even think it's an inherent difference between men and women but rather what society and media have conditioned us to believe about our bodies and those of the opposite sex. Of course in practice it doesn't matter much to talk about abstract and inherent differences cause none of us live independently from the culture we inhabit. So when I hear stuff like "men are more visual" I don't necessarily like how that's phrased. I would say the influx of lewd images has conditioned men to a more impulsive reaction to visual cues. Or something lame like that. IDK this is a tangent anyhow nevermind me!
Jaime
Personally I get really tired of being objectified. Did I say objectified? I meant ignored.

rhetoricfemme
Plenty of valid points have been made in this thread. Let's not forget, though, the horrible trend where some males choose to wear their baggy pantaloons low on the waist or around their knees. I actually saw a teenage boy walk by my house the other day with his pantaloons literally around his knees. I have no clue what the point of this is. No idea why some guys find it appealing to dress that way, and absolutely no clue why anyone would be turned on by this.
rizz_loves_jesus
look, let's be real here. most teenage girls don't know any better - this is how the culture is, this is how it is presented to teenage girls to dress - and especially if parents don't think it's wrong, then why would girls growing up think it is wrong? we're not going to be changing their hearts by walking around going, "Because you dress so slutty, you need to cover up so I (meaning a guy) don't sin."
I'd also like to add that even if we do try, for some of us, there's no way to cover up everything. Girls with bigger chests physically can't cover their cleavage 100% unless they're wearing a t-shirt, and no one wants to do that every day. I had a super-Christian boyfriend a few years ago who openly mocked and criticized me because it showed a little bit when I bent over. It's sad how some men refuse to take responsibility for their own thoughts. Edited August 28, 2011 by rizz_loves_jesus

arfink
Baggy pantaloons = you can't manoeuvre properly in battle. I have no idea how that's appealing to a gangsta' since you gotta be ready for a fight, right?

rizz_loves_jesus
^^ I honestly sat here for like two or three minutes trying to decipher your post. Could you please explain the connection between arfink's post and mine? And why you bolded certain parts of both? I'm not trying to be rude, I really just don't understand what you're saying.
