What is so strange about it? People are willing to use the adoption system to play politics with orphans by trying to force private adoption agencies to bend to the will of a small group. This and more shouldn't surprise us.

I see these bumper stickers all the time and they drive me bonkers because basically they are saying "Tolerance: all religions are the same (in that they are all false), so stop trying to make claims about the truth of reality. Secular humanism is the way to go because religious truth claims are oppressive to an ungrounded free-will. And besides, we all know oppressing people is wrong (unless of course you are oppressing those who are trying to stop the march of progress)."

And the cockamamie COEXIST bumper sticker. Who knew Rodney King was going to start a movement. I believe people who truly faithful to Christianity are tolerant - in the true sense of the word. They tolerate all kinds of hardships, and sacrifice in many forms for others out of love. So when I see the “tolerance” or “coexist” bumper stickers I get irritated b/c I know who they are addressing their accusations at.

“You’re not ok with abortion? Well then you obviously hate women!”
“You’re not ok with homosexuality? Well then you obviously hate gays!”
“You’re not ok with either? You must be religious!

Tell me about it. Here in Illinois, our "Catholic" governor Pat Quinn (who happens to belong to the parish neighboring mine) signed a civil union bill that is now being used to terminate/not renew the contract with Catholic Charities to place children with foster parents.
