Haha, I have a feeling you would've known a long time ago whether or not I do laundry every now and then.
Fair point. (p.s. What are you still doing here? Shouldn't you be, like, meeting some random new person right now? :P)
2 things. First, x-rays are photons. Second, does he work with the Advanced Photon Source???? If he does, that's epic!!! I would love to work with one of the national synchrotron light sources. Is he a part of the group working on Bragg reflections?
Eyes...glazing...over...

He's in Sector 7 which is part of the Time Resolved Research Group, part of the X-Ray Science Division of the Advanced Photon Source. I have absolutely no idea what that means. All I know is that he is scary smart. They offered him something in France with the collider, but their kids are all in school in Chicago. He's married to my husband's sister, and she got her PhD at 19, so she is probably one of the smartest stay at home moms in Chicago.

My ex-girlfriend was a particle physicist who worked at Fermilab, I believe. She also worked on the LHC (Large Hadron Collider) project at CERN (the one that people thought would cause a black hole that would swallow up the world once it was turned on) in Switzerland, so my joke to her was "I have to be nice to you, otherwise you might blow up the world!".

Well last night I was home because I was studying for placement exams so I couldn't go out to play. Tonight I'm missing out on movie night at Christine's because the Official Truck isn't being friendly at the moment. It's like it knows you are on the road and is afraid.

So Brian does this mean I can ask you for help with my HW? (I'm an Aerospace Physics major) BTW Welcome!
Possibly, but probably not. It depends on1) how far along you are and 2) whether I have time (which if you are decently far along you should recognize time as an extremely valuable commodity). I've got my BS so I've covered all the usual things, but the only extra course I took that would be in the direction to help you would be general relativity and I don't even know how much your program would focus on the pure mathematics of theory like my course did.

Yea he's working on some hardcore physics. Wow. 19. That's amazing. I don't even know what to say to that.

haha, yea that was one of the funniest misconceptions I ever saw, but they probably do have enough energy in there to considerably harm the world if they specifically ran it with bad intent, but they would have to seriously try and it wouldn't even make a black hole lol.

Epic welcome media, thank you. So far all I've seen is the latter but thanks for the heads up lol.

that guy must have recently lost a lot of weight. His pantaloons are way too big.

It's from all the dancing, he was as big as Santa when Papist posted him on here

Oh no! Poor truck. I don't feel sorry for you, though, because you're such a hater. Keep hatin'. I can take it. :P

If you stay away from Debate Table, you should be fine. :|
